I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with 32 years of post-graduate training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. Practicing full time in private practice since 1984. 12 years prior experience in a private psychiatric facility. Teaching and supervising practicing psychotherapists for 28 years. My speciality ranges from depression counseling, anxiety issues and couples counseling. I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy with a focus on helping people to understand and overcome the barriers in their relationships, career, parenting or other issues, in the context of their early life relationships and experiences in their family and their environment.
I work to help people by establishing a trusting and comfortable relationship with me so that people can feel free to share and not be concerned with feeling judged. I help people get to know themselves fully: in relationships and with themselves- essential to improving self confidence and self esteem.
I am also involved in teaching and administrating a psychoanalytic training program in Greenwich Village. I have 2 offices where I see clients: Brooklyn Heights and Greenwich Village.
